National Plastic produce a range of PVC-U pipes strictly in accordance with DIN
8062 standards on dimensions, materials and workmanship. The pipe is
manufactured from 100% virgin unplasticized polyvinyl chloride compound
(PVC-U).
PRESSURE RATINGS
The pipe is produced in a range of pressure ratings 4, 6, 10 and 16 Bar. See
tables below.
The operating pressures are based on a temperature of 20°C. As the temperature
increase, the pressure rating of the pipe decreases and an appropriate derating
factor should be applied as follows:

| SIZES |
Normally pipe is supplied
in 6m (20 foot) lengths or 5.8m (19 foot) lengths to fit inside a 20 foot
container. Other lengths can be supplied on request.
|
| DIMENSIONS |
Pipes are produced in sizes, ranging from 20mm up to
400mm. Pressure ratings are 4, 6, 10 and 16 Bar.
|
| JOINTS |
The pipe can be supplied in plain end, solvent
weld or rubber ring joint for sizes of 90mm and above.
The Rubber Ring Joint utilizes a Forsheda Seal (F-575).
A retaining ring of polypropylene holds the sealing ring securely in the groove
pipe assembly. The ring consists of a multiple lip arrangement and seals
securely over a wide pressure range. The F575 seal is made of synthetic rubber
material in 50 IRHD hardness.

| MATERIALS |
National Plastics pipes are made of PVC-U virgin material
without plasticizers. See Table III for mechanical and
thermal properties.
|
| SOLVENT CEMENT |
National Plastic recommends that only a quality cleaning
fluid and solvent cement that conforms to ASTM D 2564 or DIN 16970 be used with
the pipe.
